History of Ad-comm

The Ad-comm Group began with the founding of Ad-media in 1987 by Andreas Dannenberg with a vision of an independent, international agency in Japan that relies on global best practices as its benchmark to serve the needs of both Japanese and foreign-based clients.

The Ad-comm Group, a matrix organization with several specialized companies, was established to offer fully integrated communications solutions for Ad-media's expanding roster of multinational clients. For over two decades, the Ad-comm Group has been providing clients with in-depth knowledge of the Japanese market and the local ways of doing business, while providing innovative, global approaches to both our clients' domestic and international communications needs.

MILESTONES

1987
Ad-media was founded as a full-service advertising agency.
1993
Trimedia Japan/Asia was acquired from Trimedia, a global public relations and corporate communications agency based in Zurich, known particularly for financial public relations.
1998
Ad-event was launched to meet an increase in demand for event services.
Cybermedia was established as Ad-comm’s answer to growing demand in Japan and around the globe for innovative Web and digital marketing solutions.
2000
Brandvision was founded as Ad-comm’s brand consultant.
Capital IR was established to provide investor relations services for domestic-based companies and foreign-based multinationals in Japan.
Ad-equity was set up to ensure the most successful IPO possible for companies planning to go public.
The Ad-comm Group was founded to serve as the holding company and umbrella brand for the existing companies. The Ad-comm Group is the administrative and accounting backbone for the group companies, and provides an integrated solution for clients utilizing two or more of the group firms.
2003
whitebook, a cross-marketing quarterly for luxury brands, was first published.
2005
Ad-med was founded to serve the specialized needs of companies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.
2007
Luxury Forum Japan, an exclusive industry forum for managers of luxury brands, was established.
